A plastic bag reduction trial in Hobsons Bays key shopping precincts is one of the options Council is considering to cut plastic bag use.
Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Peter Hemphill said Australians used more than 5 billion plastic bags each year, the fifth most littered item in Victoria in 2014.
We all know the impact plastic bags have on our environment, not just for today but for many generations to come, said Cr Hemphill.
