When it comes to maritime history, its hard to beat our historic port of Williamstown and the past will meet the present in August when the tall ship Tenacious docks at its official Melbourne home port.

Tenacious is one of two tall ships operated by the Jubilee Sailing Trust, the United Nations accredited international charity formed in the UK in 1978. The ship provides opportunities for people of all abilities to experience sailing. Features include wheelchair accessible rigging and masts, speaking compasses for the visually impaired and Braille signage.

Mayor of Hobsons Bay Councillor Peter Hemphill said Hobsons Bay was pleased to welcome the tall ship, crew and voyaging passengers to Hobsons Bay.

am proud the Jubilee Sailing Trust Australia will be setting up its official Melbourne home port for Tenacious in Williamstown, said Cr Hemphill.

After docking at Seaworks on 14 August, the Tenacious will offer day sails, open days, tours and other voyage opportunities including from Sydney, Williamstown, Adelaide, Hobart and Geelong until April 2017.
