Council this week updated its position on the State Government and Transurbans Western Distributor project after taking into account the communitys feedback.
The updated position statement was formally adopted at Tuesdays Ordinary Council Meeting and takes into account feedback from over 50 individuals and a number of community groups.
Mayor of Hobsons Bay Cr Peter Hemphill said Council had sought community feedback, independent of Transurbans process, to better understand the concerns of local residents and businesses with regards to this major infrastructure project.
The Hobsons Bay community has spoken and they have shared our concerns on how this project could impact on our local community, said Cr Peter Hemphill.
We have listened to this feedback and used it to update our interim position.
